2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

· Minutes for November meeting where not available on Tuesday, December 9, 2008, V. Joyner made a motion to approve Novembers minutes with the following Corrections; T. Arteaga was misspelled (my apologies for this), E. Lizarraga was named twice, R. Fernandez second the motion, A vote was taken and the November Minutes where approved.

· G. Arteaga made the motion to approve December minutes J. J. Abundaz second the motion. A vote was taken and the minutes where approved.


3. FINANCE REPORT:

· Treasurer E. Solis gave the finance report. P. Zinser made the motion to approve the finance report, A. Peterson second the motion. A vote was taken and the finance report was approved.

4. REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES:

· Scholarship committee chair person J. J. Abundez again announced that applications are now available contact JJ on Facility I, 2nd Watch.
To date no applications have been received

Don't miss out; pick up your applications submit your child's name.

The deadline for applications is February 28, 2009.

· Cinco de Mayo Scholarship Dance will be held at the Mount Carmel Church (same Place as 2008). The deposit has been made. Mariachi entertainment TBD.

· CCWA will be providing the Mariachi and the D.J. for the Wardens retirement party, where the Warden will be presented with a plaque.

5. OLD BUSINESS:

· On Sunday, December 21, 2008. we visited Correctional Officer Chavez, Correctional Officer F. Textiera and the Goncalves Family.
With the assistance of Santa Claus (M. Thelin) we delivered toy's, clothing, food, Thank You to the following for being there:

6. NEW BUSINESS:

· ABCW Valentines Extravaganza will be on Saturday, February 14, 2009. Contact V. Joyner or any ABCW member for tickets.

· NLPOA Training Conference in Universal City May, 27, 28 & 29, 2009. Conference fee $250.00, for room reservations contact (818) 980-1212.

· CCWA San Diego Chapter will donate the Mariachi for Robert J. Hernandez Warden retirement party Saturday, January 17, 2009

7. ANNOUCEMENTS:

· CCWA San Diego Chapter meeting for the month of February will be held at the Brew House at Eastlake, located in the Eastlake Design District.

8. ADJOURMENT:

· At 19:37 hrs, T. Soto made a motion to adjourn the meeting, J. J. Abundez second the motion. A vote was taken and the motion was passed.
