The CCWA board of directors (BOD) will be held at the Marriot Hotel in San Diego on the Cinco De Mayo weekend. San Diego Chapter was recognized as having the most recruitment in 2007, with a total of (47) bringing the membership to approximately 160 members. The Quarterly BOD meeting held in Ontario on February 01, 2008, main topic discussed at the meeting was the purchase of a building/property, many of the BOD members were not to thrilled about the idea. San Diego Chapter President A Maldonado addressed the BOD stating that as long as it did not effect our quarterly funds. He shared his concerns regarding the ABCW purchasing their own building even though it was denied at the state level it was still purchased, effecting their quarterly funds which is now zero! Our state secretary Sylvia Cordero stated that we have approximately $100,000 thousand dollars for the purchase of the property. Several motions were also made to purchase lap tops for the those chapters who have under a hundred members, it was put to a vote by the BOD and did not pass.
The wounded warrior battalion barbeque which will be held on Saturday March 1, 2008 at 12:00pm is well underway, expecting approximately 40 to 45 residents. If you have signed up to donate and will not make the BBQ, please contact any board member to drop off donations. We will be meeting at 11:00am at Camp Pendelton's main gate.
Apparently there was Supervisor problems with post and bid in Sacramento. Bid jobs for Correctional Officers good for only 6 months if contract goes through.
