Meeting was called to order @ 1440 hours by President Sylvia Gonzalez.
• Roll was taken and a quorum was established.
•
Minutes from April 17, 2008 were read and approved. Marlene Smith motioned
to change the minutes to read “donated $50.00 to Debbie Chinchock in
lieu of $100.00 for the American Cancer Society.
Sylvia Vasquez second the motion. Everyone agreed.
• Distributed the following flyers:
o Fresno Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce – 1st Annual Health and Fitness
Expo – Saturday, July 19, 2008
o CDC Ethics Checklist

This year’s conference will be in Ontario on November 9th and 10th. R.C.
Garcia brought up making people pay up front for their conference and then
possibly the chapter paying them back. Debbie Chinchock made that motion. Marlene
Smith second the motion. Everyone agreed.
•
Discussed Cinco De Mayo event – Sylvia received a letter from the Medical
Department thanking the chapter. Sylvia also thanked everyone for helping and
thanked Pat for letting CCWA members use her house to make the burritos. The
chapter made $337.00 from the burrito sale.
• Sylvia reminded everyone to turn in their forms if they are interested
in running for office.

We need to have a ballot sent out to members. We don’t have a lot of
current addresses for members on file. We need to select a credentials group
to send out ballots, track and count votes

Meeting on May 30, 2008
• Board of Directors is discussing renting a new
office in Delano. R.C. Garcia mentioned it would be easier to lease a building/equipment
instead of buying it. It is safer for individuals to lease for their term.
• Board of Directors CCWA is looking for a recruitment coordinator.
• Discussed raising money by getting a fireworks booth. Need license from
county to set it up and we need to get our own liability license and fireworks.
• John Alvarez family is related to Paul Rodriguez. He will inquire about
going Rodriguez putting on a show for CCWA scholarship money.
• Sylvia directed everyone if they know of any upcoming events, to let
the committee know, so they can set up booth.Adjournment
R. Guzman made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 1525 hours. D. Chinchock
second the motion. Everyone was in favor of adjourning the meeting.
