Meeting was called to order @ 1420 hours by President Sylvia Gonzalez.

Roll was taken and a quorum was established.

Minutes from July 31, 2008 were read and approved. R. C. made a motion to approve minutes. Irma Decker second the motion. Everyone was in favor.

Distributed the following flyers:

• CCWA 2008 Training Conference on Sunday, November 9th and Monday, November 10th. CCWA will pay for five people. Rooms are $84.00 per night.

• Retirement Potluck for Brice Trimble on Wednesday, August 27, 2008.

•CSP-Corcoran Family Fun Day. CCWA made a motion last week to purchase a vendor’s booth for $100.00. We are going to sell Cotton Candy and cookies. The money raised will go to scholarships. We will also have a recruitment table. Sylvia will call everyone to help at booth.

Received a letter from Harry Martinez, Member, regarding Kiki Memorial Golf Tournament. He is asking for $100.00 to represent CCWA in the tournament. Claire Holguin motioned to give him $50.00. Angela Navrozolly second the motion. Everyone agreed.

ABCW invited us to their conference on October 7th and 9th in San Diego.

CCWA – Corcoran I Minutes
Meeting on August 21, 2008∑ National Latino’s Peace Officer Association invited us to attend their 35th Annual Conference in Denver Colorado on October 29th through November 2nd.∑ Passed around updated CCWA membership roster for individuals to read. We now have 197 members.

We were invited by RJD CCWA members about taking a tour with them to the TeCate Brewery and a Mexicali Prison Tour. We will keep everyone posted as soon as we get a date.

Discussed purchasing CCWA building at the Board of Directors meeting. The building’s lease we have in Visalia is up in October.

CCWA Elections – We only had one person per position run for upcoming elections, so those individuals will be appointed.

Some Institution’s CCWA members are complaining that they are constantly being bypassed for promotions. Those individuals are asking for help. CCWA can listen to them and take their information in a memo format with facts as to their allegations. This information will go to the Board of Directors and they will make a determination on findings. We as CCWA members can not get an attorney nor provide any legal advice. All we can do is listen to you and recommend to Board of Directors
