1. Meeting was called to order at 2:35 p.m. hrs. by Maria Holdren, President

2. Roll was taken (See sign in sheet) and a quorum was/was not established.

3. Minutes from February 2009 meeting were read and approved/approved..

4. There was no treasurer’s report. Balances will be given after taco sale and dance.

5. Old Business:
a. Count of outstanding tickets for Spring Pachanga, approximately 96. Push made to sell tickets. Want to have approximately 125-150 sold prior to dance. Bertha will purchase wrist bands for dance. Cake will be ordered from Kellenberger for $165. Caterer will be $6.00 a person which includes shredded beef, cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, punch and coffee. All members will donate two bags of tortilla chips and bring to dance. Bertha will have the 50/50 poster made. Lisa will pick up 18 more piñatas for door prizes. I ordered a new raffle spin basket. Cost is approximately $50 with tax and shipping. Thursday, before the dance, volunteers will help decorate hall. Helen will provide balloons.

b. Taco sale will be held on April 1, 2009. We will purchase the take home plates, forks, and napkins. Vendor will come out the week before to see where to drive into with his equipment. This has already been approved through JP. Taco sale will be posted to all Avenal staff by JP.
c. Paid for three rooms for the NLPOA conference which will be held in May 2009. Six members will be attending. Fee for conference will be sent in after the dance. Spoke to CCPOA and their president stated they did not have enough funds to sponsor one of our members for the conference.

6. New Business:
a. Summer Vacation Raffle: Big attraction for the drawing will be a week in Las Vegas at the Polo Towers during the week of June 21 through June 28, 2009. 2nd through 4th place items are, 2 49er tickets, 2 Fresno State Football tickets, and a charcoal smoker. There are 5th through 15 consolation prizes.

b. I will be looking into getting our own P.O. Box for our business, only if the price is reasonable.

c. I will purchase of postage stamps, greeting cards, labels, ink cartridges, and miscellaneous office items.

d. Helen Sanchez was approached by Cathy Lowas about putting on a softball tournament. Will try to get a hold of her to try to get information to the Board to see if we want to do this. Sounds like it could be a good money maker.

e. I will try to get final prices on the Vegas trip in September for the Mariachi Festival.

7. Announcements:
Two organizations are asking for donations, Avenal Sober Grad and one of the officers is requesting we sponsor a little league team. After the two events, we will decide at the next meeting if we are going to donate and how much.
